How do I check that a business VAT number is valid?
Short answer
The platform checks the VAT number of a business in VIES by itself, you do not click anything: a valid number is checked again after 30 days, and when VIES does not answer, it asks again after an hour. On the business card on the Businesses and price lists screen you see a badge: Valid in VIES (with the VIES name), Not found in VIES, VIES unavailable, will be checked again, Outside VIES, only the format was checked, or Waiting for the VIES check. VIES being unavailable is not a rejection, only an outage in that country. The result is information for you: it does not stop approving the business or an order.

Sign in to the Portican admin.
In the menu, open Customers → Businesses and price lists.
