Why do Ecomail and Google Analytics numbers differ?
Short answer
Ecomail credits an order to a campaign by the contact's email: whoever received the campaign, responded to it and then ordered counts for it, whatever device they used and however they reached the shop. Google Analytics credits a purchase to the source of the visit in which it was made, and only sees customers who allowed analytics cookies.

Good to know
- That is why the numbers differ even when measuring works: a customer clicks the campaign on a computer and later buys on a phone through Google, so Ecomail counts the order for the campaign and Google Analytics for Google.
- Orders from customers who refused analytics cookies are not in Google Analytics at all. If, say, one customer in eight refuses, Google Analytics shows about that many fewer orders than the shop and Ecomail.
- How to check a campaign: In Ecomail, open the campaign detail and see which contacts ordered. Then find their orders in the admin under Sales → Orders: the Visit source section on the order page shows where the visit that ended in the order came from. If the source is not the campaign, the customer came another way, and Google Analytics has the order under that source if they allowed analytics cookies.
